Ok so fast forward 3 years of renovating our townhouse and boom the housing market skyrockets. We always knew our townhouse would be a starter home for 2-5 years but in this market it seemed like an amazing time to sell.. and it was!

We had the townhouse on the market for 3 days. We had 48 showings, 40+ people at the open house, 20 appointments requested after the offer deadline, and 17 offers!!!!! We ended up selling 10% over asking price! It was truly unbelievable. I still can’t believe so many people loved our home.

Fast forward to buying a house.. not that easy. 😅 Thank god our realtor is amazing and super patient and just an awesome human. After months of looking, we ended up buying a rancher on 2 acres! Our first baby, a Siberian husky named Lola, is seriously living her best life in our new yard. However, this house needs some serious love. We started right away and things are already starting to come together!

My first mission was the trim and doors. Alllll the brown is being replaced with white (still in progress). I have to give a huge shout out to my husband, my dad, and my father in law. Without them this project would not be possible. As soon as settlement hit, my dad was in there popping off all the old trim. Jimmy and his dad painted, did drywall work, electrical work, and more. Here are some before pictures.. can’t wait to show you the progress we’ve done on the hallway and living room!

We knew we wanted to transform the kitchen and make it more open. Our original plan was to totally move the kitchen to the other side of the house (I know, getting crazy LOL) but after getting an engineer in and a ton of second opinions, we decided it wasn’t the best option. So we decided to stick with knocking the wall down where the stove is and putting an island there. Here are some pictures of the original kitchen. Spoiler alert: more brown.

So today the wall is coming down! Jimmy and my father in law spent the day doing demo and my dad spent the day finishing putting up the new doors! So much progress in one day and it is really so exciting.

While all the demo is going down, Carson and I are sleeping at my parent’s house. I can’t wait to see how much bigger it feels with a whole wall gone and how much cleaner it looks with the white doors and trim. Progress, progress, progress!
