Well here we are! I’ve thought about starting a blog for a while now just to document all the big things we’ve done and to have a place to come back and reminisce but I never got around to doing it. When we bought our house and decided to remodel it from head to toe, it seemed like the perfect time to start!
First off – a little about us!
Jimmy and I have been together for almost 7 years (in July) and got married in June of 2020. Yes, we had a COVID wedding. Well, technically we canceled our wedding and got married with 10 people but hey that’s a story for another time. We had our son Carson in February 2021 and he is the absolute love of our lives.
We bought a townhouse when we were engaged and it was a cute place that was just a little outdated. We started doing a few DIY renovations here and there and ended up transforming the whole place! It really became addicting to see how many upgrades we could do on a budget. Who knew a fresh coat of paint could really change a room?! From our DIY kitchen to putting new floors in.. it was a really fun project! My husband is also an electrician so updated lighting was a must! 🙂
Here’s a look into some of the fun things we did at our old house
We painted all the trim and doors white, took down the railing, new floors in the dining room (that went into the kitchen) and added all new lighting – recessed lights, ceiling fan, and a new chandelier.
The kitchen was a big project! We knew we didn’t want to spend a ton of money but we wanted to brighten it up and modernize it a bit. We painted the walls, cabinets, and countertops! New floor and lighting and it was like a whole new space.
Okay this was a long enough first post. Stay tuned for more of our townhouse renovations and for what our new house holds!
